Chapter Honors Daniel Krauss and Patrick Rohan; Raises $125,000

ORT America’s Accountants, Attorneys & Financial Services Chapter held its annual tribute reception on October 17, 2012 at The Yale Club of New York City, with over 275 in attendance. Daniel J. Krauss (Hahn & Hessen LLP) and Patrick J. Rohan (CIT Commercial Services) were honored by the Chapter for their outstanding professional accomplishments and demonstrated strong commitment to advancing education through their support of ORT’s students and worldwide programs. They were presented with the “ORT Community Achievement Award” and the first “Marion G. Wingens Memorial Award, respectively. Net proceeds raised from the event were added to the Marion Wingens Scholarship Fund established in 2011 for the benefit of students at Bramson ORT College.
Daniel J. Krauss has been with Hahn & Hessen LLP (a nationally recognized law firm specializing in finance and insolvency matters) since 1976, and a partner since 1981. A past Managing Partner, he presently serves on the firm’s Management Committee. For over 35 years, Dan has represented financial institutions in closing and restructuring sophisticated finance transactions. His clients include banks, finance, factoring and leasing companies, investment banks, merchant banks and other equity and credit providers. A past President of the Association of the Commercial Finance Attorneys, he is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Section and a member of its Committee on Commercial Financial Services.
Patrick J. Rohan has been at CIT Commercial Services for 31 years. A leading provider of factoring and financing services, CIT Commercial Services helps businesses of all sizes increase sales, improve cash flow, reduce operating expenses and minimize customer credit losses. Mr. Rohan currently serves in the position of Senior Vice President and Customer Credit and Client Service Manager. Mr. Rohan has held positions at CIT including Retail and Wholesale Customer Credit Manager and Menswear Customer Credit Manager.

The Marion G. Wingens Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 to honor the memory of Marion Wingens, a founder, president and devoted board member of the ORT America Accountants & Bankers Chapter in the early 1990s. Marion was a passionate supporter of the ORT program, playing an active role in the many chapter events which raised over a million dollars for ORT. She is dearly remembered by her fellow Chapter board members for her friendship, warmth and enthusiasm. See more photos on Flickr.
